Reviews are proof AI systems and customers both look for before recommending a business.
Each additional legitimate listing is another place your business can be found and cited.
Clear service-area information helps both search engines and AI assistants match you to local searches.
Review the scan findings and ask your website provider to check your business schema before adding new markup.
Treat this as an optional experiment after completing your core website improvements. Adding this file does not establish that an AI system will use it or recommend your business.
Give visitors a direct route to your GroLocal business profile and keep its information consistent with your website.
AI assistants increasingly cite Reddit and Quora threads directly in answers — a real, helpful answer from you can outrank your own website for some searches.
Clear answers help customers understand your services and decide whether to contact you. Review the suggested questions against what customers actually ask.
Useful articles can help customers compare options and understand your services. Choose topics you can answer with practical examples from your business.
Google lets people mark specific websites as a "Preferred Source" — once someone does, that business gets a visible "Preferred" label and priority placement in that person's AI Overviews, AI Mode answers, and Top Stories, not just standard search. It does nothing for people who have not found the business yet — it only rewards people who already know it. It also only has something to reward if there is fresh content being published (see the articles step above), and adoption is still under 5% of US Google users as of mid-2026, so this is worth doing but not worth over-promising.
YouTube is the second-largest search engine on its own, and short video is increasingly what AI assistants and search engines surface for local queries. The same clip can be repurposed as a YouTube video, an Instagram Reel, and a TikTok with almost no extra editing.
A business that serves the same customers without competing with you (a shared customer base, not a shared service) is one of the easiest ways to reach new local customers without paying for ads.
Contests and promotions drive engagement, referrals, and word-of-mouth. This is more about customer reach than a direct AI-visibility signal, but it complements the steps above — more happy customers means more of the reviews, photos, and mentions those steps rely on.
